Featured Historical Landmarks:
- The 1928 Culver City Hall: Located at 9770 Culver Blvd, this Spanish Colonial/Beaux-Arts landmark served as the civic heart of Culver City until its demolition in the mid-1990s. It was a favorite backdrop for Hal Roach comedy productions.
- Culver Boulevard Streetscape: The historic roadway used for the high-energy, chaotic outdoor driving and stunt sequences as Stan and Ollie navigate their way from the medical center.
- Pacific Electric Railway Tracks: The vintage streetcar infrastructure visibly embedded along Culver Boulevard, showcasing the iconic "Red Cars" transit lines that once connected downtown Los Angeles to the coastal communities.
Infrastructure Note: This documentation provides an exceptional comparative look at early transit and municipal architecture. Decades after Laurel and Hardy tore through these streets, the exact same stretch of Culver Boulevard and its railway tracks served as a prominent backdrop for the classic television series *CHiPs* in the episode "Moving Violation."
Mr. Hardy has a leg injury and is recuperating in the hospital. Unfortunatley, Mr. Laurel pays a visit and soon he and Mr. Hardy are thrown out onto the street!

Moving Violation, the old Pacific Electric railway tracks that used to run down Culver Blvd in Culver City, California are visible in the film. The passenger trains that used to travel these tracks linked Downtown Los Angeles with the beach communities of Play del Rey, El Segundo and beyond.
This then and now look at the filming locations video also includes a great look at the 1928 City Hall building that served Culver City until the mid 1990s and appeared in many films and TV series over the decades. Today, a replica of the facade stands on the site. This filming location was used by Laurel and Hardy again two years later in their comedy movie
Going Bye-Bye!.
