Laurel and Hardy - The Second 100 Years (1927) - Filming Locations

Tour the classic Laurel and Hardy filming locations from their 1927 silent comedy, The Second 100 Years. In this short, we follow along as Stan and Ollie dress as painters to escape from prison, leading a suspicious policeman on a wild chase through Downtown Culver City, California. This quick preview video takes you on a "then and now" tour of two primary filming sites

The "Prison" Gate

Located at the entrance of the historic Los Angeles County Morgue! Amazingly, both the gate structure and the interior building look almost exactly as they did in 1927.

The Main Street Chase Scene

Filmed at the intersection of Venice Blvd and Bagley Avenue. Watch as the chase moves south down Bagley Avenue into Downtown Culver City (where the street transitions into Main Street). Aside from minor storefront updates, these historic buildings are still standing today.
