Remarkably, many of these filming locations remain perfectly preserved and look exactly as they did over 40 years ago. While most of the LA Arts District backdrops are still standing, one prominent building featured throughout the video has sadly been demolished. Explore the history of these classic Madonna locations and see how much of the original 1980s cityscape captured on film in this music video still exists today.

UPDATE: March, 2026 - I have just learned that Madonna's "boyfriend" in this music video, Louie "Louie" Cordero, has just died. He was 63 years old.
