Star Trek - Arena (1968) - Filming Location

The U.S.S. Enterprise is pursuing a hostile alien spaceship operated by a species called "The Gorn." The pursuit takes them into a solar system inhabited by a peaceful race who stops the violence and beams Captain Kirk and the Captain of the Gorn ship to a desolate planet where they can settle their dispute directly.

Where was the Star Trek episode Arena filmed? This Season 1 episode filmed at Los Angeles County's Vasquez Rocks Natural Area park, about a 45 minute drive north of downtown Los Angeles. The area has been a favorite filming location for 100 years. Dozens (and dozens!) of movies, TV shows and music videos have used this location and its iconic rock formations as a setting. As you'll see in this then and now film location video, not much has changed since Captain Kirk visited.
