The Three Stooges - Mutts To You (1938) - Filming Locations

In the classic 1938 short Mutts To You, The Three Stooges run a dog-grooming business. While making their neighborhood rounds, Moe, Larry, and Curly discover what they believe is an abandoned baby on a doorstep. Their well-intentioned rescue quickly escalates into a neighborhood-wide kidnapping scare.

Directed by Charley Chase

This film was directed by the legendary Charley Chase, a comedic titan of the silent and early sound eras both in front of and behind the camera. You can explore more of his work here in our Charley Chase Filming Locations library.

For Mutts To You, Chase chose a beautiful residential street in Los Angeles as his filming location.

The 100 Block of South Norton Avenue

The pivotal scenes where the Stooges discover the baby were filmed on location in the Windsor Square neighborhood of Los Angeles. Specifically, the production used the 100 block of South Norton Avenue.

Remarkably, every home featured on this stretch of South Norton Avenue is still standing today. The most prominent residence, 111 South Norton Avenue (built in 1915), remains a stunning example of early 20th-century architecture, as you'll see in the Mutts To You Quick Preview filming locations then and now video above.
