- Carlson Park Neighborhood: The residential blocks directly adjacent to the historic MGM backlots were heavily utilized for Oliver Pope’s paranoid neighborhood walks.

Production & Preservation Note: Filmed in the winter of 1963, this classic episode stands as an exceptional mid-century time capsule of the Carlson Park residential tract. By venturing right outside the MGM studio gates, director John Brahm captured an authentic slice of 1960s suburban Americana. While the historic Culver City police station on Culver Blvd has since been lost to modern civic redevelopment, the surrounding neighborhood residential architecture remains beautifully intact and recognizable, with mature, towering street trees providing the primary visual bridge between the vintage black-and-white framing and today's streetscape.
Where was the classic episode
You Drive of the TV series The Twilight Zone filmed? This episode of The Twilight Zone filmed in the neighborhood around Carlson Park in Culver City, California.
For this episode, the crew ventured out into the residential neighborhood adjacent to MGM Studios (which is where the series was filmed) to tell the story of a man who runs over a kid on a bicycle and flees the scene in his car. The car, though, has a conscience and follows him as he walks around the neighborhood, finally breaking him down to the point where he gets in the car and the car drives him to the Culver City police station, which unfortunately is no longer standing today.
In this Quick Preview filming locations then and now video, you'll see that aside from there being larger trees lining the streets, the houses seen in the episode remain today and are basically unchanged since the 1960s.
