Historical Production & Location Reference

Episode Title: Scrap Metal (1986) - Part 2
TV Series: Hunter (Season 2)
Studio Origin: Stephen J. Cannell Productions
Director: Michael Preece
Featured Historical Landmarks:
  • Hollywood Blvd & Highland Ave: The gritty streetscapes surrounding this historic intersection serve as the real-world backdrop for Sergeant McCall's undercover assignment.
  • The Hollywood Masonic Temple: Located at 6840 Hollywood Blvd, the distinctive exterior of this 1920s Neo-Egyptian landmark makes a prominent appearance.

Production & Preservation Note: This 1986 sequence captures the raw, weathered character of the Hollywood Boulevard commercial corridor during the mid-1980s. The historic Hollywood Masonic Temple, visible in the background, stands as a prime example of structural survival and adaptation; originally dedicated in 1923, it was later extensively restored and repurposed as the modern broadcast facility and theater studio for ABC's late-night program Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

In this second Quick Preview excerpt from the complete filming locations then and now documentary video for this TV episode of Hunter - Scrap Metal, McCall poses as a prostitute walking the seedy streets of Hollywood.
